Dr. Robin Dawson

Dr. Robin Dawson, co-founder, is the Interim Dean and Associate Dean for Academics at the University of South Carolina College of Nursing and a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner with 30 years of experience across acute care, inpatient, and community-based settings. Her research draws on clinical practice, communication science, and patient-centered methods to improve healthcare access, patient engagement, and patient outcomes. She examines communication within healthcare encounters to strengthen clinical education and patient-centered care, develops innovative screening and service-delivery approaches for rural and underserved communities to understand the experiences of patients and families. Through this work, Dr. Dawson advances evidence-informed interventions that strengthen healthcare delivery, expand preventive services, and improve outcomes for patients.

Dr. Sara Donevant

Dr. Sara B. Donevant, co-founder, is an Associate Professor at the University of South Carolina College of Nursing and a nurse informaticist whose work advances patient-centered, technology-enabled care. With nearly two decades of clinical, academic, and research experience, she investigates how digital health tools such as mobile applications, artificial intelligence, ambient listening technology, and infrared imaging to improve nursing workflow, patient engagement, chronic disease management, and patient outcomes. Her scholarship has been supported by organizations including the National Institutes of Health, the American Nurses Foundation, and the South Carolina Research Authority. Dr. Donevant is also an accomplished educator, mentor, author, and innovator, committed to preparing nurses to lead meaningful change at the intersection of healthcare, data, and technology.
